We recently became a proud member of Ecologi, a social enterprise working to combat climate change around the world.
Ecologi was founded in 2019 and, since then, has made an extremely positive impact on the environment. They’ve worked to fund over 70 million trees around the world, avoided over 2.8 million tonnes of CO2 emissions and brought many businesses on board.
Climate Action Workforce
We’ve joined their Climate Action Workforce programme, which is a monthly subscription that rewards our team and the environment. For each team member at Complete, we’ll be funding 60 trees and avoiding 4.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
Since joining the movement, we’ve helped to protect the Matavén Forest in Eastern Colombia and protected landfill in Brazil from methane emissions.
We’ve also funded 40 trees in locations such as Bolivia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Madagascar and more. These trees support reforestation, which is important for the environment and nature.
How does Ecologi help?
At least 10% of the trees planted can provide food to benefit the local communities. This helps to increase the number of jobs available and encourages community support. All employees are paid a fair wage.
Some communities choose to plant the trees voluntarily to receive products and services to benefit their local area. Some of these may include access to healthcare services.
After the trees are planted, various steps are taken to ensure their survival rate, for example, by working with dedicated partners. If trees are found to fall below the set survival rate, more trees are planted in their place at no further cost to Ecologi or their community.
The climate crisis is not going anywhere, and if we all work together, we can make a more positive, impactful change. Joining Ecologi is a great way to support climate action on a global scale.
