How to plan your digital marketing in 2022

Another year has flown by and we all know what that means…it’s time to start planning for your digital marketing in 2022. The last 12 months have been very challenging for businesses. Along with businesses facing closures we’ve also had to adapt to home working and more online meetings. This blog is about how to plan your digital marketing for 2022.

So how can you plan for 2022?

Be unique

If the last year has taught us anything, it’s the importance of creating meaningful content to stand out from competitors also trying to do the same. Providing your users with high quality content is important and can be done through regular blog articles on your website. Blogs are a great tool as you can share important information in a more colloquial way. If you’re unsure on topics that you can write about, why not start with some frequently asked questions?

No more cookies

Google has been clear about their plans to phase out third party cookies in early 2022. This will lead to big changes on how marketers can target users online. Third party cookies are often used by advertisers to target users on websites that are not related to their domain. For example, you may be looking at a product on a website and later visit another website and see the same product as an advertisement.

Use your location

As we’ve mentioned previously, local SEO is so important for your business and could really help you to be more visible online. Local search works by users searching for a service and typing “near me” in the query. Google takes data from multiple sources, including your Google Business Profile and your website, so it’s important to ensure all information is up to date and your SEO is completed to a high standard.

Voice content

Sales of voice activated devices have continued to grow and therefore more people are using their voice to complete searches. With this in mind, you should consider reworking your content so that it sounds more conversational. That doesn’t mean you need to redo all of the content on your whole website, it’s just worth considering.

Create interaction

Since the pandemic began, more businesses have been utilising online platforms to promote their products and services. This meant that the online market became quite saturated and therefore businesses have been searching for ways that they can stand out. Creating an immersive experience for users to enjoy from their own home has proved popular. Businesses have created walk through and behind the scenes content which consumers have enjoyed interacting with, particularly during the months that we were unable to leave the house.

Spread the word

There’s not many better ways to share your work than through customer reviews. If you can share positive reviews online, such as via social media, you’re sure to impress potential clients. There are many platforms available for you to gather customer feedback. After you’ve completed a service or a product has been purchased, ask for a review.
